Galliers Homes, based in Shrewsbury, is providing financial backing for the ‘Ride the Course’ event on August 18.
This is the first time that members of the public will be allowed to ride the route just before the Nocturne, which is billed as Britain’s original and best floodlit bike race.
It attracts some of the country’s top male and female cyclists and up to 1,500 spectators
“We are delighted that Galliers Homes are sponsoring the inaugural access event ‘Ride the Course’,” said Diane Jeggo, one of the organisers of Newport Nocturne.
“This community ride is a fantastic opportunity for anyone to come and cycle around the closed road circuit in advance of the racing programme.
“It’s ideal for families to experience the atmosphere of the Newport Nocturne and the same route that world and Olympic champions will be competing on later.
“This however, is a more sedate ride and anyone with a roadworthy bike and helmet will be allowed to ride round the circuit,” Diane explained.
The Galliers Homes ‘Ride the Course’ community ride, will commence at 6pm for 40 minutes. There is no need to pre-register but helmets are compulsory.
Galliers Homes is currently building a range of three and four bedroom properties at its Meadowcroft development in Church Aston, with prices ranging from £240,000 to £355,000.
